Real Madrid was close to a promising result in the first leg as the game was scoreless until Kylian Mbappé hit the net in the 94th minute.

Now, things look much more difficult for Los Blancos as they must win when the Parisians visit Santiago Bernabeu. But Real Madrid wouldn’t be on top of Europe with 13 titles in the most prestigious continental competitions if they couldn’t win when they need. Los Blancos won the competition on four occasions between 2013 and 2018, but they have lost in the round of 16 in two of their last three Champions League campaigns.

Real Madrid finished the group stage on top of Group D and is still with a chance for double crown this season. Carlo Ancelotti’s squad is on top of La Liga with 60 points, 6 more than Sevilla.

Real Madrid has won 3 of the last 4 games in the domestic championship and is hosting PSG after a 1-0 win over Rayo Vallecano.  Los Blancos have three wins, a draw and the loss to PSG in their last five games overall. The last time Real lost a game at home was back in September 2021, when Sheriff Tiraspol shocked them with a 2-1 win.

Real Madrid probable lineup: Courtois; Carvajal, Éder Militão, Alaba, Mendy; Kroos, Casemiro, Modrić; Asensio, Vinícius Júnior, Benzema

PSG

The Qatari owners of the Parisian club went all in the last summer in order to finally win the UEFA Champions League. The signing of Leo Messi was the final touch in this squad and the Argentinian superstar will have another chance to shine in front of a crowd that he has brought to tears so many times in his career.

PSG is going to Madrid with a goal advantage which may prove crucial regarding the question of which team will advance to the next round. Kylian Mbappé has been connected with a possible move to Madrid this summer but the French striker didn’t care much about it when he did a master-piece in the last second of the match on Parc des Princes.

PSG is not a team that will play defensively at Santiago Bernabeu and will try to score and get the job done much earlier than the final whistle. The French club certainly has the capacity to do that as Messi and Mbappé can provide a magic at any given time.

PSG probable lineup: Donnarumma; Hakimi, Marquinhos, Kimpembe, Nuno Mendes; Danilo, Paredes, Verratti; Di María, Messi, Mbappé

Our tip for the Real Madrid vs. PSG game

Real Madrid has a great season both in the UEFA Champions League and La Liga. The fact is, that the season will go to the books as successful or not successful based on the outcome of this game.

Madrid has been confident at their stadium but no team as good as PSG has paid a visit this season. Ancelotti’s squad will start the game carefully without rushing to null the deficit from the first game. Madrid will definitely have the majority of the possession but PSG is dangerous since they can easily create a fast break and convert the first opportunity they get.

This will be another football spectacle as Luka Modric and Leo Messi will fight their battle in the midfield and those two creators will have the key roles in this game. The fact is that PSG has the better overall team and there is no way Real would be able to stop both Messi and Mbappé. One of these superstars will score for PSG which will be enough for at least a draw in Madrid which will get the French club to the last eight.

Prediction: Draw or PSG to win
