Going into the season, no one really talked about the Memphis Grizzlies. But there, away from the spotlight, the Memphis Grizzlies put up a young team that is ready to steal the show this season. The Grizzlies went from being a young and promising team that might not even make it to the playoffs to a serious contender in only one year.
The Grizzlies are currently third in the Western Conference with a 44-22 record with only the Phoenix Suns and the Golden State Warriors ahead of them. They have won 9 of the last 13 games which brought them within a game behind the Warriors in the standings.
Many wonder how a team that is second youngest in the league with an average age of 24 with a third-year coach Taylor Jenkins, can make such a leap in such a short time.
The answer that first comes to mind is Ja Morant.
The Grizzlies drafted the point guard as the second overall pick at the 2019 NBA Draft out of Murray State. Many doubted his potential as he was coming from a small school but Morant made a name for himself right away and this season made his All-Star debut.
Morant is averaging 27.7 points per game which puts him 7th in the league and he also adds 6.6 assists and 5.8 rebounds per game.
The Grizzlies are the best rebounding team in the league with 49.3 rebounds per game and are ranked third with 114 points per game.

New York Knicks
The New york Knicks’ fans thought that better times for theit team has finally come as the Knicks made it to the playoffs last season for the first time after eight years.
The core of the team stayed together with addition of Kemba Walker and Evan Fournier. It seemed like the Knicks may go only in one direction but only few month later, Tom Thibodeau’s team is 12th in the Eastern Conference with a 26-38 record. The Knicks have lost 12 of the last 14 games and will probably miss even the play-in tournament this season. They are among the five-worst teams in the league with 105.4 points per game on 43.4% shooting from the field.
