Liverpool failed one point short in the race for the Premier League crown but will have a chance to win the biggest European trophy when they face Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League final.

Next in line was Inter who won 1-0 on Anfield in the second leg but that wasn’t enough for the Italians as the Reds won 2-0 in Milano in the first leg.

Benfica also avoided a loss in the second leg playing 3-3 on Anfield but the Reds took care of business in the first leg with a 3-1 win.

Liverpool played the first match at home in the semifinals as well, defeating Villarreal 2-0. The Spanish team managed to score two early goals in the second match but the Reds turned up the pace and score three unanswered goals to win 3-2 and advance to the final.

The defending champion Chelsea was there. Real Madrid won 3-1 in the first leg in London and it seemed like the job is done but Chelsea didn’t give up and took a 3-0 lead in Madrid. Rodrygo scored ten minutes from the final whistle to send the game into extra-time where Karim Benzema was the savior once again scoring the goal that gave Real a spot in the semifinals.

And there came the real miracle against the Premier League champion Manchester City. The Citizens won 4-3 at home and took a late 1-0 lead in Madrid. When everybody thought that the game is finished, Rodrygo scored twice in the stoppage time to send the game to the extra-time. And there, who else but Karim Benzema was the hero, scoring a penalty kick to book the ticket for the final.

Betting Tip

Real Madrid’s road to the UEFA Champions League Final has been epic and if they manage to win the trophy that will be one of the most amazing football stories ever. But that task will be very difficult as Liverpool will be on the other side. The Reds failed to win the Premier League title and will be extra hungry in Paris on Saturday.

Jurgen Klopp’s team has played brilliantly in the second part of the season and will show their brilliance in the finals against Real. Liverpool is the better team at the moment and will be able to score an extra goal against Real whose offence mainly depends on Karim Benzema. It will be a tough and interesting battle with the Reds winning in the end.
